The 2020 Silverado Heavy Duty will debut in February as the third all-new Silverado released in the last 18 months. This new truck is the most capable and most advanced Silverado HD ever built, meeting the needs of heavy-duty truck drivers.
The demands of HD truck drivers cannot be met by less
powerful and capable trucks. The chief engineer of the Silverado HD, Jaclyn
McQuaid, stated, “We built a heavy-duty truck tailor-made for them that has
more differentiation than ever before from light-duty models, offers advanced
towing technologies to improve towing confidence and includes new features such

pulling a fifth-wheel trailer.” With thoughtful engineering and design, consumers
will have a confident, capable driving and work experience.
You will notice that the Silverado HD shares some design
cues with the light-duty Silverado 1500, but its form generally follows its
bold, heavy-duty function. It includes two new advanced powertrain options, a
new gasoline engine, a six-speed transmission, and the Duramax Turbo-Diesel V8.
This latter engine is not for the faint at heart as it pumps out 910 lb-ft of
torque and comes with an all-new Allison ten-speed transmission.

The best thing you can do to keep your pickup truck running well over the years is to stay up-to-date with its maintenance schedule. Unlike many other vehicles, pickup trucks have their own particular set of needs, so it’s worthwhile to know what you should be doing for your truck by consulting the owner’s manual. In the meantime, here are some basic pickup truck maintenance tips to consider.
Frequent oil changes
Since many owners are frequently demanding high amounts of power and performance from their trucks, it’s important to stay on top of oil changes. Switching out the oil will help keep your truck’s engine running smoothly. There are many different kinds of oil, so you should spend a bit of time deciding which one best suits your driving needs.
Rotate the tires
Whenever you get your vehicle’s oil changed at the shop, you should also have the tires rotated. This will ensure that the tires wear evenly, which makes for a smoother ride. See if your mechanic can also check the alignment and balance of the tires when they are getting rotated as well, as these can be affected by tough terrain.
Check fluid levels, wiper blades, and lights
These simple checks go a long way, especially if you’re routinely using your truck on the worksite. These checks will help optimize performance and visibility and minimize wear to your vehicle.
Know your driving demands
Proper maintenance of your pickup truck also depends on how you use it. If you’re frequently driving in dusty conditions, you may need to change the engine air filter more frequently. If you regularly venture off-road, you will want to have the tire alignment and balance checked more frequently to avoid uneven wear, poorer handling and efficiency, and potential damage to your truck’s suspension.
As with any vehicle, proper maintenance is necessary to keep it running for a long time. To help keep your truck performing at its peak, visit our Service Department at ELCO Chevrolet.
Chevrolet is giving its customers more options by introducing Tahoe and Suburban Premier Plus special editions for the 2019 model year. These new special edition models include special features and a powerful V8 engine. In addition, drivers will find an array of luxury features on these vehicles.
According to Chevrolet, the Chevy Premier Plus special editions will come with a 6.2-liter V8 engine in the 6.2-liter Performance Package. With the 6.2-liter engine, the special editions generate 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. Other features in the package include Magnetic Ride Control and a smooth-shifting 10-speed automatic transmission.
“Our customers have shown strong demand for both Tahoe and Suburban with the 6.2-liter V8 option,” said Sandor Piszar, director of Chevrolet Trucks Marketing and Advertising. “Thirty-six percent of all Chevy full-size SUV special edition models are now sold with this engine. Premier Plus gives both Suburban and Tahoe customers another option to choose from with several added premium touches.”
Premium amenities on the special editions include Black or Mahogany leather front seats, as well as bold black trim surround. Enlarged wheels, special bowties and chrome nameplates help these vehicles stand out.

The all-new 2019 Chevy Silverado packs a lot of punches, from its stellar performance to its wealth of modern features. To maximize it convenience and functionality, the new Silverado features best-in-class cargo volume, box depth and length, 12 fixed tie-downs, and an exclusive power up/down tailgate. Together, these features create an all-new hauling experience.
The new 2019 Silverado 1500 Durabed is the largest pickup bed ever. Recognizing that the bed is the heart and soul of any pickup, Chevy engineers worked hard to deliver a bed like none other to drivers. No matter the box size you choose — short, standard, or long — you’ll be gaining anywhere between 10 to 14 cubic feet of additional cargo box space compared to the 2018 Silverado model. The new cargo box space ratings excel outside of the Chevy lineup, as the short-box’s volume is as much as 20 percent more than the short-boxes of leading competitors like the Ford F-150 and Ram 1500. This largely comes as a result of widening the width of the Silverado’s bed floor by as much as 10 percent.
Not only is the Silverado Durabed built to be more spacious, it is also constructed with high-strength steel. Such construction easily outcompetes the F-150’s truck bed, which is constructed with aluminum, and the Ram 1500’s, which is constructed with 340-megapascal high-strength steel compared to the Silverado’s 500 megapascals.
If you want your truck tougher than the rest, the choice is simple: go for the Silverado 1500. Test drive one today at ELCO Chevrolet.

Here are a couple we recommend.
Fair Saint Louis: Since the Fourth of July falls on a Wednesday this year, Fair Saint Louis will take place July 4, 6, and 7 at the Arch grounds. The fair is free and features tons of ways to keep the whole family entertained, including live music, games in the Festival Zone, and a nationally-recognized fireworks display each evening of the fair. On July 6th, the fair will feature a live musical performance by Jason Derulo and Andy Grammer, and on July 7th, Martina McBride will perform.
July 4th Fest: Running from June 30th to July 4th, Six Flags will host a festival to celebrate our country and its independence. There will be a fireworks display each of the five nights, festive food available for purchase, and rides will run late, so head to the park with friends for a fun, festive, and thrilling celebration of the Fourth of July.
The 4th of July is one of our favorite days of the year. Let us know how you plan to celebrate at ELCO Chevrolet — and while you’re at it, head to the festivals in style with a brand new car!
