Missouri is a wonderful place to live, especially for anyone who enjoys exploring the great outdoors. You do not have to go far to find places for hiking, biking, fishing, or kayaking. Here are some of our favorite trails near Ballwin, MO, for the spring and summer season.
Rock Hollow Trail
This 2.3-mile asphalt trail is relatively easy, making it perfect for a leisurely bike trip or a ride on the inline skates. The trail runs from Meramec Greenway Trail to Ridge Meadows Elementary School and is just a 15-minute drive from Ballwin.
River Scene Trail Loop
River Scene Trail Loop is also just 15 minutes from Ballwin, and rests in Castlewood State Park. This hiking trail creates a 3.1-mile loop with a moderately difficult path. The beautiful scenery includes views overlooking the Meramec River to make very step worth it.
Lone Wolf Trail
You can also find Lone Wolf Trail in Castlewood State Park, but it is slightly shorter. This trail is moderate and suits both mountain biking and hiking. The Lone Wolf Trail creates a 1.7-mile loop that goes into Kiefer Creek valley. Feel free to bring the four-legged friend along for this one, as dogs are welcome on the grounds as long as they are on a leash.
Stop by ELCO Chevrolet and ask the rest of our team about their favorite walking or biking paths.
