Biggest Differences Between the Trax and the All-New Trailblazer

For the 2021 model year, Chevrolet has unveiled its new entry-level small SUV, the Trailblazer. So how does the 2021 Trailblazer compare to the bowtie brand’s other small SUV, the Trax? The two share a lot in common, but there are also some key differences between the two SUVs:

Under the hood

The Trax is limited to a single powertrain: a 1.4-liter turbo four-cylinder engine that serves up 138 horsepower and 148 lb-ft of torque. For the Trailblazer, you can choose between the standard 1.2-liter turbo engine that delivers 137 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque and an EcoTec® 1.3-liter turbo engine, which cranks out 155 horsepower and 174 lb-ft of torque.

Interior space

The Chevrolet Trailblazer and Trax both comfortably seat up to five passengers, but the Trailblazer offers a little more room for gear. The Trailblazer has 25.3 cubic feet of cargo volume behind the second row and 54.4 cubic feet with the second row folded; the Trax has 18.7 cubic feet behind the second row and 48.4 cubic feet with the second row folded.

Trim levels

Choose between two trims for your 2021 Trax: LS and LT. Or go with the Trailblazer, which offers five unique trims: L, LS, LT, ACTIV, and RS.

GM Introduces OnStar® Insurance

Last year, General Motors rolled out its brand new OnStar® Insurance program. At the end of 2020, coverage was available to GM employees in Arizona, but starting this year, General Motors will be offering OnStar® Insurance to the general public.

OnStar® Is Here For You | ELCO Chevrolet | Ballwin, MO

What makes OnStar® Insurance different is its focus on reinforcing positive driving habits and vehicle usage for determining eligibility and rates, rather than other factors you often can’t control. Shopping for OnStar® Insurance can be done entirely online, but you will be able to speak with an agent if you run into any questions.

As you drive with OnStar® Insurance, the service will analyze your driving behavior and make suggestions to improve your on-road safety. If you follow that guidance and improve your driving habits, OnStar® will reward you with significant discounts on your insurance premiums.

In addition, OnStar® Insurance is compatible with OnStar® Safety & Security. In the event of a collision, you will appreciate Automatic Crash Response and contact with an OnStar® Emergency-certified Advisor, who can contact first responders while you focus on your own safety.
